Vesna Krizmanić

Vice-President (Croatia)

In the past 9 years, I was the president of dental technicians of the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine (HKDM), where I was elected for two terms. Prior to that, for a number of years I was actively involved in the work of the Croatian Dental Technician Association (where I was also a President for two terms).

I have devoted all my life to struggle for a better and fairer position of dental technicians in the society i.e. cooperating with official administrative bodies and the Ministry of Health when making laws important for dental technology and negotiating with the state health insurer (HZZO) about the prices of our services.

Over the last few years, the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine was trying to change teaching curricula to keep up with technological changes and meet the needs of the labour market. We have fully developed the curriculum of the future Dental Technology Study, which we hope will commence this year at the Dental Medicine study programme, Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka.

Graduated in 1988 at the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Zagreb.

After the graduation, I worked for a few months as Head of a dental laboratory in Buffalo, USA. Upon my return home, I was appointed in Medical Centre in Zabok, Croatia, where I worked until 1998.
In the last 20 years, I own a private laboratory in a small place about fifty kilometres from Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, where I am doing all kinds of prosthetic replacements.

Finally, after 44 years, I still love my job and want to share some of my thoughts and love with younger generations for who I wish better and more organized systems that will enable them to grow and develop.
