The « Fiera del Levante » of Bari hosted on September 20, the day after the Craft Day, the first edition of an event dedicated to dental technicians, an appointment that will become regular in the calendar of initiatives in the sector.
A series of conferences and presentations on the theme: « European Dental Technician: the laboratory of the future between rules and technological innovation ».
Introduced by the President of the Italian organisation (Confartigianato Imprese), Mr Gennaro Mordenti, on the situation of the profession in Italy, the first session also focused on the regulatory aspects of the sector, in particular on the inconsistencies between the role attributed to operators by the sectoral law and that provided for by the European regulations on medical devices.
Mr Laurent Munerot, President of the FEPPD, presented the European Federation’s actions to his Italian counterparts and made an analysis of the situation in the sector at European level.
The afternoon session was reserved for suppliers, who illustrated the market situation regarding innovations produced for laboratories.
